CYBL Player of the Session: Session 1

The Canadian Youth Basketball League 2016-2017 season tipped off on November 19, 2016 and I am ecstatic! I am looking forward to another season full of action-packed basketball, joyous moments with players, families, coaches, and more.

I have always had a passion for helping others, and have always loved youth. Seeing them in their early stages of development inspires me to teach them how to do good and be good, and venture off in life in the right pathway. At the CYBL Sessions I have had interactions with youth of many different origins, and it warms my heart when I have the chance to converse with them. There is nothing more important when it comes to getting to know someone, than conversation. With the interviews I do, I learn a lot about the person but also about my nervous self.

I had the honours of interviewing the Grades 4, 5, 7 & 8 Players of the Session for Session 1 this season. Happy to be able to capture moments like this!

Congratulations to Zion Forde on receiving CYBL Session 1 Grade 4 Player of the Session! Wishing you much success in the future!

Player, Team Manager, Scorekeeper, On-Court Assistant, you name it. A game I played competitively for over six years, and a game I continue to play recreationally when I can. I developed a love for this game at a young age, and do what I can to keep myself involved with it.

Whether it is on the court, on the sidelines, in the bleachers, or warming the bench, basketball will always be a part of me. The game has taught me to work hard, learn to accept, and become a better person every day.

I am looking forward to sharing my experiences with basketball that are upcoming, as well as some from the past!
